Nice bike buddy, that looks like it's going to be a lot of fun! Is it just me, or is that bike short?

Yes, they were originally Wellgo MG-1's with upgraded titanium axles, then the rest was cut away with an angle grinder! :)

haha it's actually rim tape. The holes are cut out to save weight.

I haven't ridden DH for over a season now. Everything on the bike works great. There are no cracks in the frame and the rear wheel was just built up at the end of the 2009 season. I only have enough room to have 2 bikes at any point in time and I'm looking at getting back into XC.

Because I don't ride it anymore and I need room for a different bike

I'm pretty sure there isn't any carbon fiber in them (they'd be lighter if there was)... they're built from a hardened plastic just like mag wheels from back in the day. The thing is, they're actually engineered... and engineered well, plus they're molded around the DT Swiss 440 hubs... so it's probably gotta be the most low-maintenance, care free wheel set on the market! They're pricey though. :(
